Regional Director of Project Managemet

Position Summary:
The Regional Director of Project Management will oversee project management operations across
multiple regional offices and lead the successful delivery of large-scale construction projects for a
multi-state geographical region. PM leadership and oversight will involve successful communication
and collaboration with all levels of Project Managers, regional leadership, and field teams. This role
will provide strategic leadership, manage a varied portfolio of projects, and ensure alignment with
company goals, contractual obligations, budgetary considerations, safety standards, and quality
expectations. The Regional Director of Project Management will assess project risks, implement best
practices, enhance efficiencies, and initiate continuous improvement to drive consistent project
execution across the assigned region.


Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:


Strategic Leadership and Oversight
• Lead and manage a team of Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, Project Engineers, and
field operations staff across the region.
• Develop and execute regional construction strategy, ensuring alignment with company values,
goals, and objectives.
• Establish and implement best practices, processes, and tools to optimize project communications,
execution, performance, and profitability.
• Provide strategic oversight and leadership in the planning, design, execution, and closeout of
regional projects.
• Develop and maintain key relationships with clients, contractors, designers, and internal
stakeholders to ensure project success.
• Foster a culture of safety, quality, and a continuous improvement mindset across all project sites.


Operational and Project Management
• Oversee the planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution of construction projects from
inception to completion. Ensure projects remain within scope, budget, and planned timeline.
• Ensure standardization in project tracking, documentation, and reporting across the region.
• Ensure effective project delivery by maintaining strict adherence to timelines, budgets, and
quality standards.
• Identify and mitigate project risks and be proactive with project adjustments, as necessary.
• Work closely with sales and operations teams to forecast project pipelines and the allocation of
resources. Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth project execution.
• Manage and monitor financial performance, cost controls, and profitability of projects.


Client and Stakeholder Relations
• Serve as the primary point of escalation for project-related issues within assigned region. Liaise
with senior executives, clients, and stakeholders throughout the project life cycle.
• Manage client / customer expectations, facilitate regular status update meetings, and provide
frequent updates regarding project status, milestones, performance, forecasts, and strategic
recommendations.
• Maintain per project documentation and reporting utilizing internal systems (such as SharePoint)
for historical reference and continuity.


Team Development and Supervision
• Lead, mentor, coach, and professionally develop a high performing team of project managers and
support staff.
• Conduct performance evaluations and encourage and implement improvements as needed to
foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
• Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess and improve team effectiveness.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning. Provide coaching and
professional development opportunities to encourage retention.
• Practice and demonstrate MEI values and lead by example.


Compliance and Safety
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including safety standards, building
codes, and environmental requirements.
• Promote a safety-first culture and insist all projects adhere to company safety policies and
procedures.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor project safety, MEI performance, and customer relations.


Financial Management
• Manage Project budgets and financial forecasts, ensuring projects are delivered within allocated
financial constraints.
• Ensure cost control measures are implemented and budget variances are identified and addressed
promptly.

Minimum Qualifications (Experience, Skills, and Education):
• Bachelor’s degree in project management, construction management, engineering, business
administration or a related field highly preferred.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred; OSHA 30-Hour certification
helpful.
• Ten (10) plus years’ experience in project management within the construction, machinery
moving, or related field.
• Five (5) plus years in a senior leadership role; extensive experience supervising multiple projects
and leading diverse crews in a safety-sensitive environment necessary.
• Proven experience managing multiple large-scale, complex construction projects simultaneously.
• Extensive knowledge of project management methodologies, contract negotiation, budgeting,
and risk assessment. Familiarity with various construction sectors (commercial, industrial,
infrastructure, Data Center, EV / Battery, clean room / semi-conductor) helpful.
• Excellent knowledge of construction management software and project management tools (such
as Procore, Salesforce, MS Project); proficient with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint,
Outlook), and SharePoint.
• In-depth knowledge of construction contracts, procurement processes, resource allocation, and
project life cycle.
• Highly self-directed and self-motivated, manages the efficient use of own time as well as the
team’s time, and encourages efficiencies with others.
• Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Skilled at analyzing complex project
data and communicate related information to stakeholders and all levels of staff.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and team-building skills.
• Possess a valid driver’s license or the ability to attain; and be insurable. Able to work on-site and
travel extensively to project locations; comfortable with performing work in-office as well as
field environments.
• Leads high-functioning teams focusing on safety, integrity, and professionalism effectively in
high-pressure environments.


Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
The Regional Director of Project Management must have the ability to effectively work in a variety
of office settings including job trailers, MEI offices, field projects, customer work sites, and mobile
vehicles. Willing and able to work in non-temperature-controlled environments and/or outdoors.
Will travel (primarily by automobile) to multiple projects across various states and geographic
locations. Overnight travel necessary.
