Mechanic
Position Summary:
Diesel Truck/Tractor, Trailer and forklift mechanic providing maintenance for A1 Lift Rentals fleet of forklifts (6k lb. to Versa Lift 100/140k) Kenworth, International, & Freightliner tractors, Landoll, RGN, and flatbed trailers.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Mid-level mechanic work on diesel vehicles, routine PM service, brake service and hydraulic systems.
- Ensures all equipment PMs are completed according to schedule
- Ensure repairs (trucks, trailers and rental lifts) are made, and any damage caused by renter is billed within the first 24 hours after check-in.
- Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for extensive and complex repairs
- Schedule equipment efficiently to maximize the safe and timely fulfillment of all jobs.
- Verifies all equipment performance by conducting test drives, adjusting controls and systems, checking hydraulic and wiring connections.
- Ensure shop teammates uphold high preventative maintenance standards (90% on time PM’s), return damaged OOS units to service as quickly as possible.
- Keep equipment in outstanding visual condition and working order.
- Perform annual certifications and DOT Inspections
- Maintains equipment records by annotating services and repairs on Work Orders in FC&C Software
- on-site operators to identify causes of unexpected breakdowns. Coordinate repairs with the team promptly.
- Contains costs by using warranty, evaluating service and parts options.
- Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt, and requesting purchase orders for proper billing.
- Accepting ownership and accountability for tasks and responsibilities assigned in the Shop. Take pride in your work and in the company.
- Complete housekeeping duties in assigned area or project area daily.
- Ensure all team members perform work safely and follow safety protocols.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (Experience, Skills, and Education):
- HS Diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum two to five (2-5) years proven fleet mechanic experience (Heavy Equipment and Vehicles)
- Minimum one (1) year proven hydraulics and wiring diagrams experience (Heavy Equipment and Vehicles)
- Minimum of 1year of intermediate skills working in Microsoft office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Preferred Qualifications (Experience, Skills, and Education)
- Detroit and Cummins Technical Training
- LP and Forklift Operations
- Computer Diagnostics OBD II and J19 Connections
- Class 8 Truck and Trailer Maintenance
- Ability to use precision measuring tools and equipment, hand, power, and pneumatic tools.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
